CrossFit for me is the intersection of personal achievement, group energy, top-notch coaching, and a place to belong. Every workout is a team sport and an individual journey all at the same time. Every workout is different, but one thing is constant - striving to do more/better/faster.

"I’m seeing a huge improvement in my level of physical fitness since I started CrossFit. There are the CrossFit milestones that I’ve achieved. For example, when I started back in mid-October, I could do 3 dead-hang pull ups. Yes, only 3. I’m now at 54 kipping pull ups.

And that’s great, but the real reason that I decided on CrossFit was to be able to excel at, and continue to enjoy, all the other activities that I love to do: cycling, backpacking, skiing, running, and scuba diving. As you know, I’ve been working to improve my core strength ever since my back surgery last summer. The surgery was a real wake-up call for me, and I was concerned that I might not be able to get back to all those things that I love to do.

A couple of weeks ago I carried a backpack for the first time since my surgery, and I skied into one of the 10th Mountain Division huts between Vail and Leadville. This is a hut that I had skied into last winter, so I knew what to expect, and I knew how long and hard it was last year. Well, this year with CrossFit under my belt it only took me 5 hours. Last year, it was 6. And the second day of the trip I was able to ski all day in a foot of fresh powder with my 21-year old son. No issues with my back. It was a fantastic trip.

My road biking speed and endurance have also surpassed my pre-surgery levels. I’ve improved on all my previous times on all of my “standard” rides. Keep in mind that after my surgery I wasn’t even able to get out of the saddle and stand up in my pedals without my right leg collapsing. So I had a lot of ground to make up.

Given this vast improvement, I’ve set the Triple Bypass as my goal for this summer, a ride that crosses 3 Colorado passes and covers 120 miles in one long day. And the next big goal after the Triple Bypass that I know CrossFit will help me achieve is to climb Denali with my son, P.J."

"I LOVE LOVE LOVE FOOTHILLS CROSSFIT - It's the best program ever and in day 5 -- I can't ever see not incorporating it into my daily routine!!! You're changing lives - 1 pull up at a time!! While trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in (that doesn't actually ache!)"

"Fight Gone Bad was awesome! All three of us thought it was a kick ass workout and fun! I wanted to tell you...my friends were so impressed by you, your coaching, and how you encourage everyone to meet themselves where they are. Both the girls are instructors, and we all thought you did an amazing job organizing all of those people and stations! Also, we all commented on how supportive and and friendly all the participants were to us...it really does feel like we are part of a community with your cross fit group.

When I started at Foothills CrossFit on December 1, 2008 it was the first time I had worked out in several years. Due to poor diet (fast food and ice cream daily) and lack of exercise I was an extremely chubby 225 pounds.

I am an accomplished golfer (6 handicap) and because of our mild winter have been able to play quite a bit. Prior to starting CrossFit, I would be worn out physically and mentally well before the end of a round. My scores were going up and usually the last few holes of a round would be disastrous.

Since starting CrossFit my scores have been coming down and my driving distance is going up. Hole #10 on my home course is a 310 yard par 4. I have actually driven this green several times due to the strength and flexibility I have gained from doing CrossFit. Today I made 5 birdies and shot 71. The mental toughness which is gained from CrossFit is very noticeable.

After approximately 3 months of CrossFit and a slight improvement in diet (no more ice cream) I have lost 15 pounds and my metabolic age has gone from 53 to 46 years old (I will be 50 in August). It amazes me how fast this change has occurred. This is from an hour work out 3 times a week. Like they say CrossFit is a little like Meth but you get to keep your teeth. CrossFit will prepare you for whatever you are doing in your life.

Now my wife is even sneaking a peek when I’m getting dressed. Ha Ha

I have been doing Robyn's crossfit workouts for a little over a month and the change I see in myself is AMAZING! When I started I could barely lift my own arms, let alone anything containing any weight, and running had been completely out of the picture for the last 25 years. Yesterday morning I got up, did a mile run, 50 squats with a 10 lb weight and 30 press ups with a 16 lb bar. This was on my own because I felt like it...my body now would prefer to be active rather than sit on the couch. I'm 46 and getting stronger every day...I think I might be able to take my kids ;-).

“I started out not being able to complete one pushup, let alone run a mile. In just five weeks, I can not only complete a set of pushups and run a mile, but I look better, feel better and have made new friends."

"I have been an athlete all my life, competing at collegiate levels and have run three marathons.... but never before have I trained my entire body like this! I have been sore in places I didn't even know I had muscles. The results have been incredible, not only physically but mentally as well. Pushing yourself beyond levels you didn't think possible, knowing that you can accomplish anything you set you mind to....."

Just wanted to express some appreciation for the WOD today :-)
This was the kind of WOD that reminds you of what CrossFit is all about -- a bunch of people battling to get through a really challenging set, everybody knowing what everybody else was going through, and understanding what it took.

You both are so good at keeping people going. Like offering to change someone's bar weight for them in mid-workout, as Trish did for me this evening. You need to know how much things like that are appreciated.

This was really great tonight and I wanted to thank you for it.
