CrossFit has changed everything.

When I started at Foothills CrossFit on December 1, 2008 it was the first time I had worked out in several years. Due to poor diet (fast food and ice cream daily) and lack of exercise I was an extremely chubby 225 pounds.

I am an accomplished golfer (6 handicap) and because of our mild winter have been able to play quite a bit. Prior to starting CrossFit, I would be worn out physically and mentally well before the end of a round. My scores were going up and usually the last few holes of a round would be disastrous.

Since starting CrossFit my scores have been coming down and my driving distance is going up. Hole #10 on my home course is a 310 yard par 4. I have actually driven this green several times due to the strength and flexibility I have gained from doing CrossFit. Today I made 5 birdies and shot 71. The mental toughness which is gained from CrossFit is very noticeable.

After approximately 3 months of CrossFit and a slight improvement in diet (no more ice cream) I have lost 15 pounds and my metabolic age has gone from 53 to 46 years old (I will be 50 in August). It amazes me how fast this change has occurred. This is from an hour work out 3 times a week. Like they say CrossFit is a little like Meth but you get to keep your teeth. CrossFit will prepare you for whatever you are doing in your life.

Now my wife is even sneaking a peek when I’m getting dressed. Ha Ha

I have been doing Robyn's crossfit workouts for a little over a month and the change I see in myself is AMAZING! When I started I could barely lift my own arms, let alone anything containing any weight, and running had been completely out of the picture for the last 25 years. Yesterday morning I got up, did a mile run, 50 squats with a 10 lb weight and 30 press ups with a 16 lb bar. This was on my own because I felt like it...my body now would prefer to be active rather than sit on the couch. I'm 46 and getting stronger every day...I think I might be able to take my kids ;-).
